This item is ONLY compatible with certain wireless routers. The syncing process is not easy and your Wi-Fi device may not be compatible. I have a high-end Xfinity WiFi device and it's not compatible. However, I have another Google WiFi router to extend the signal to the back of my house and THIS is compatible. I still can't connect it to Alexa, Google Home or whatever, but I don't really care about that feature. Once connected, it works well and is quite comfortable. You download the app to your phone and then you can choose which socket to turn on and off and you can label each socket. In terms of power and security, it works well. I don't think that's the right surge protector. It's good enough, but you could pay more for a better one.
