Review on AOC G2460PF 1920x1080 Adjustable DisplayPort 144Hz Monitor with Tilt Adjustment, Flicker-Free Technology, Wall Mountable, USB Hub, G Series LED by Steve Gary

This monitor was a slow opening. It started out horribly for me. Colors were washed out, black and gray mixed. Tried some ICC profiles and even with fine tuning it didn't seem acceptable. The only redeeming quality seemed to be Freesync, which worked fine for me since I'm using an AMD card. Although judging by some other reviews it seems that some people are having problems with certain games. In the last few days of using it, it turned out that the panel "broke" a little. Colors appear less washed out, grays and blacks have a bit more contrast and backlighting seems less harsh to me. I was using a 60Hz IPS panel so maybe just my eyes are switched to a TN panel, but my IPS is still being used as a second monitor so my exposure to the IPS panel's superior clarity hasn't been removed . Keep your expectations under control. Especially if you're upgrading to this TN from an IPS panel. It's illogical to expect a premium TN panel in its chassis from a monitor that offers such good value for money. A much worse, but (after breaking in) not bad display is more than acceptable for games. That is, provided you value smooth, beautiful movement and responsive controls over bright colors. I've read that some people had old firmware with this monitor when they got it, but mine shows a freesync range of 35-144Hz so my monitor seems to have arrived. - out of the box to this day. No stuck/dead pixels yet either. The only advice I can give is to make sure you set up an ICC profile when you get this monitor, set your expectations low and most importantly make sure you use it for a few hours. (I would say at least 10+) to allow the panel to process and settle down a bit before looking at other monitors.
