If you change your paper filter monthly, there is no filter in the world that can last a year, especially one that holds more particles. You have to suck it up. I was hoping it would be washable but the frame is as cheap as paper filters. If you are allergic, you should definitely pay attention to it. If you change your filter every 3 months simply because it's definitely worth a look. in. If your oven is in a high traffic area with a lot of dirt/dust/dog hair, it may be cheaper to buy paper filters in bulk. The paper lasts a month for me, this one - 3 months. Paper is cheaper. For those who say their oven can't pull air through, they have a problem with the oven, not the filter.
