wheel products have been the focus of my attention lately as I have been frustrated to find a truly effective product for dual purposes: dissolving iron and removing the road grime that accumulates on wheels. In many cases it is one or the other. So many products fail miserably at one thing but succeed at another and vice versa. Get Sonax! This rim cleaner plus THIS. Effect #1 - Many cleaners try to mix tire and rim cleaner and just fail. The Sonax plus rim cleaner is not suitable for cleaning rubber. That's why he concentrates all his energy on cleaning the wheels. It's so effective that it works almost as well as acidic cleaners on poorly maintained bikes. It also works FAST. I've often been outside in the heat and couldn't wait for something to take 4-5 minutes to show its full effect before it dries on the surface. It has a sexy color changing effect which is actually very useful and not a gimmick. That lets me know what's going on and helps me in time. I would say about 2 minutes and you can wash off. This product is also somewhat viscous which allows it to stick to surfaces, increasing the residence time to be effective. It's not so thick that it sticks to a small area, forcing you to use more product; I have used some of these. This is the ideal intermediate option. A significant reduction in contact with corrosive and highly abrasive brake dust is crucial. Traditionally, #2 scented wheel cleaners that contain an iron-dissolving chemical do NOT smell nice. This product doesn't smell great, but it's not bad like rotten eggs. I STRONGLY recommend wearing an appropriate respirator when using occupational chemicals. This smell is due to the potency of the ingredients. In fact, smell can be used as an indicator of what kind of quality product you are using, or lack thereof. Economic Value #3 - Because this product works so well and is a HIGH QUALITY product, you do NOT need to use a lot. This is often overlooked in products. A cheaper, less effective product requires more product or more time, which I don't care about. Use less of this product for faster results. A+I will not use any other product as I have tried almost all of them.
