Non-touch temperature

Now that I've gotten a little annoyed by walking around and taking temperature everywhere (hey baby, the dog's tail is now 72F), I can a little write a review. All in all it works as I had hoped. I'm limited in its calibration because my notoriously good thermometer has a small range. I felt this was only a degree or two away from what was known to be good equipment in this area. All the difference can be explained by my technique. I've included a clumsy video of me measuring the temperature rise of a pan with the burner on underneath. I also found that my oven's advertised temperature of 350F is actually 336F. Different materials have different emissivities, which means their ability to emit thermal radiation is different. This device can easily be adapted to the emissivity of the measured material. Emission chart for common materials included. To see what difference this could make, I measured various parts of my bike in a 64°F garage and left the emissivity setting at 0.95. The materials I tried were cloth, aluminum, steel, black plastic, orange plastic, and rubber. They largely cover the emissivity. They were all within 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit, so while this is an important setting for serious work, it's not a big deal to me. The controls are simple and intuitive. There is no double press and no triple press with 8 second pause when jumping up and down on the left leg. The thermometer comes with a battery and instructions. It is ideal for non-contact household or industrial thermometers. highlighted.
