I seriously considered 4K monitors as an upgrade for my CAD work, but it finally dawned on me that to really take advantage of 4K resolution, I would need a much larger monitor than I wanted. I'm being serious, I love my 65" TV, but I don't need a 40" or 50" TV at my desk where I sit at arm's length. I should have stepped back or my neck would stiffen just looking at him. I chose 2K and after a long search settled on this monitor. It doesn't disappoint. This is a beautiful monitor. I use two monitors and my old, now secondary, Samsung monitor looks dark and blurry next to it. I've thought about keeping the old secondary system as tertiary because I usually have many windows/applications open at once, but it's so strange in comparison that I relegated it to an older system used as a secondary computer. (That's not big enough for my wife's eyes.) I suppose if I were a gamer I'd crave higher refresh rates and faster response times, but 60Hz and 5ms is fast enough for me, even for animated 3D -Renderings. It would take a more powerful machine than my CAD system to reap the benefits of a higher performing monitor and I daresay only the most serious gamer with such a machine can or will notice the difference. There are speed tradeoffs, so the graphics/video cards of choice aren't the same for CAD and gaming either. I've had this monitor for about 6 months now and with no failures I haven't looked back or looked for anything better. It's crystal clear, way brighter than I need and the color reproduction is great. The only thing I'm missing now and thinking about is buying another one. (Since I no longer keep two monitors on the secondary machine, I suspect the oldest active monitor will then be downgraded with the 3:4 monitor as another backup.)
