UPDATE (see original review below): I returned the original 4-port KVM after receiving a replacement from Revain. Very happy with Revain's return policy. I can't say the same about TESmart products. The KVM replacement was just as unreliable as the one I sent back. Same problems as before. In short: at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, the screen flickers constantly. It more than makes it worse. You are busy with something and the screen goes black for about 5-7 seconds. Sometimes it gets dark, comes back for a while, and then gets dark again. several times in a row. Occurs at least once every 5 minutes. Forget about playing with this KVM, the screen will turn off at the worst moment and you will die. I use manufacturer-supplied cables so I can't fault my cables. To be fair, the screen doesn't go dark (or go off at all) that often at a frequency of 30 Hz. Incessant hissing from the speakers. . Again, it's imperceptible at 30Hz, but when you scroll down to 60Hz the noise becomes unbearable. Sounds like a radio with a broken speaker and unreliable connection - endless clicking and popping. I had to turn off the sound system when using a 60Hz computer that turned out to be my gaming PC. How fun is it to play games without sound? - Gaming keyboard and mouse are not well supported. Keyboard hotkey switching and special key bindings did not work at all when connected to the appropriate keyboard switching port. I had to connect the keyboard to a universal USB connector, but I lost the ability to switch computers by pressing the keys. My gaming mouse didn't work at all when the sensitivity was raised above the lowest setting and the dedicated mouse controls didn't work. Both worked fine when plugged into a general purpose USB port. Unfortunately, there is only one universal USB port. Connecting a standard keyboard and mouse to the dedicated ports works fine. - Small single green pixels are scattered randomly across the dark areas of the image. Not common when running at 30Hz. When HDR is enabled at 60Hz there are even more bad pixels. This is not a serious issue, but it is further proof that KVM is not capable of 60Hz operation. In general, KVM seems to work well at 4K, 30Hz and a standard keyboard/mouse. Everything goes to hell when you plug in a 4K 60Hz video stream or try to use gaming accessories. The rest of the functionality is good. It maintains icon position at both refresh rates and delivers HDR color signals at both refresh rates. I used the third USB port for the printer and it was properly shared between all the computers. As a 30Hz KVM this works fine. However, there are many 30Hz KVMs out there, many of which are much cheaper. The advantage of this product is the ability to work at a frequency of 60 Hz. While it technically works at this speed, the quality is terrible and almost unusable. Generally good for office work, but not suitable for gaming. ----------------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW: - -------------------------------This is my second purchase of a TESmart product - and my second return of a TESmart product. I originally bought a dual monitor KVM model that supports two computers. Worked fine for about 3 days before dying completely. There was no option to replace this item, the only option was a full refund. Other reviewers of this model also complained that their devices suddenly died, so I decided to try something else. This overview applies to KVM with a TESmart monitor supporting four computers (red model). My requirement is simple - 4K video at 60Hz. Most inexpensive KVMs in the sub-$200 price range only support 30Hz refresh rates; Good for TV or movies, but bad for gaming. KVMs from legitimate brands that support 4K at 60Hz typically cost over $300. TESmart is unique in that it offers a high refresh rate (and advanced display capabilities) at a relatively low price. So I really want these items to be liked and rated 5 stars. Unfortunately, TESmart products seem to suffer from terrible quality control. After trying the dual monitor model to no avail, I decided to try the TESmart single monitor models. There are so many KVMs to choose from at Revain, but purely based on price and advanced features, TESmart is one of the cheapest. If only they would produce a reliable product. Both TESmarts I bought looked great and were solidly built. The casings are metal and the keys feel solid and premium. Some reviewers didn't like the loud beep when switching between computers or the very bright LED lights, but I actually prefer it. Both devices come complete with all the necessary cables, which is great value. The remote control is IR based, so you need line of sight between the controller and the KVM to activate the switch. However, the remote controls of both devices I ordered were without a battery. As mentioned, my original purchase (two monitors, two KVM computers) worked fine for a total of three days. I was very happy with the purchase and was willing to give it a 5 star rating. Then he died completely. There was no picture or sound on either of the two exits. I would like a replacement but it wasn't there. Return to Revain for a full refund. This device (one monitor, four KVM machines) is still working after a week, but has three issues that many other reviewers complain about: (1) The screen randomly goes completely black for a few seconds. . This can happen multiple times in a row and then be clean for hours followed by a single swipe back and forth. It is not known when the screen goes black - this can happen when the screen is idle or when there is movement. There were several inappropriate moments in the game when he was being chased through the dungeon by a horde of angry undead orcs. (2) Random bright red pixels appear in dark areas of the screen. Sometimes it's just a small handful of pixels scattered across dark areas, but often there are a lot of stray pixels and it's pretty annoying. (3) When there is no sound from the computer (such as when you are working on a spreadsheet), the device makes audible clicks and pops. It's not too bad when real audio is playing at the time (which drowns out the distortion), but otherwise it's excruciating. You expect silence, but instead you hear that annoying constant hissing from the speakers. Not sure if this is bad design or poor manufacture. These three complaints are not just related to my purchase. Others have reported the same problems. I was able to return this item for a replacement so TESmart would have a third chance to gain my trust. Will update this post when the new device arrives and is fully tested.
