Very handy router

Bought with a Netgear FS-108 switch and planning to sell later, but after reading the details of all its features decided to keep it. It's very easy to set up. One side connects to our cable modem and the other to our hub. After reconfiguring the computer to use DHCP and rebooting, I was able to access the router configuration web wizard. After a few screens, the router was up and running and I started surfing the web. The entire setup from box to browsing took five minutes. The web interface offers only the most basic configuration. For a more professional setup, you need to telnet to the router. Fortunately, Telnet menus are well organized and easy to navigate. With some additional configuration I can send incoming DNS and SMTP requests to our Linux machine and HTTP requests to our Windows 2000 machine. The only problem I had was that my Windows 2000 machine didn't have an IP address could get via DHCP. However, this is very minimal as DHCP is not required and you can set up your computers with static IP addresses. Overall I am very impressed and happy with this router.
