Not worth the price. Its only advantage is that it heats up quickly. Cheaply made, the wires are bare both at the shaft and at the end. The end looks like it has the typical reinforced rubber reinforcement that protects the cable from kinks and damage, but upon closer inspection it's just a hollow piece of plastic with wires inside. I'm sure the wiring will come out with a good jerk! I feel like there must be something wrong with any article that needs to come with so many warnings to be careful when removing spikes. There are warnings about this in the Revain list, in the instructions, and the company even emailed me about the issue. If they had used higher quality materials when making the tips, they might not have had as many problems with the tips breaking off. I've had a hollow walnut pyropen for over 15 years and have regularly done what they asked (remove tips when pin is hot, don't use pliers etc) and I have NEVER broken the tip. The problem is cheap materials. The first time I turned this on on the high/30w setting smoke came out of the hole in the shaft for a few minutes, probably the old flux had burned through. I'm sure it would be fine for the casual user, but I need something more permanent.
