Review on 🚲 Garmin Edge 510 GPS Bike Computer Review: Discontinued but Reliable! by Jeremy Levendusky

Revainrating 5 out of 5

great but not reliable for long trips

For me this unit has worked great. Most of the time. I've never owned an Edge 500, so there's nothing to compare to how the screen performs in low light. There are no complaints about the screen. I just wish Garmin would focus on making sure core features worked reliably and not add gimmicks that nobody wants (HR's Life Report comes to mind). For short trips, everything is usually fine. When driving over 300 km (and randonners often do that) it gets shaky. Remember the days of Windows 95 when everything started to freeze after 12 hours? It's a bit like that. They recently added the Garmin Remote. A great idea. Love it. It works within 10 minutes; After that, my Edge no longer responds to the remote control. Aggravating. I would probably give this computer all five stars if everything worked more reliably. So what is the alternative? If only I knew.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • No mold required
