I just installed two of these as I wanted to replace my old bike racks in the garage that didn't allow me to store my bikes level (I had to hang them on the seat). I was a bit worried that my mountain bike's wide frame wouldn't fit very well, but that's okay. I agree with all other posts about wall mounting, this needs to be attached to the rack with a 2-1/2" or longer deck or wood screws (I like deck screws because bits drive the screw better). If you do that If you can't, consider using 2x4 or 3/4" plywood attached to two pegs on the drywall surface. The holes and marks on the wall were from a previous mount and a dirty bike. Also, this support is handy in that it can be extended for wider handlebars if required.
