we had some issues with this shoe. Overall they seem like a good buy for the price. We've compared them to the Capezio and Bloch taps and the taps on them seem decent, they're quite thick and twisted. Shoes are a slightly different story, they are faux leather that doesn't feel very comfortable or flexible. For just $25 you could definitely get a better shoe, but if you're new and not sure you're going to stick with it, this is a solid choice. Now the negative of the shoes we received: we had so many problems. the size of this shoe. Originally, for a boy who wears a women's size 7, we had ordered a women's size 7 and 7.5, both of which were too small. They came back and we ordered 8 and 8.5. Again they were a bit small. (Although they were for a younger boy who is not used to being 'comfortable' in dance shoes and likes to wear socks.) So we ordered 9. When 9 arrived they were obviously well used. Looks like someone used them for many classes. The screws came out (another possible shoe problem). 9 are definitely back. I don't know what we're going to do now. Pay attention to size and quality!
