SRAM GUIDES BRAKES STINK.

Tried to fix my trash chain brakes that were replaced under warranty. New "fixed" levers began to slow down on return. The installation went well. They were the same length as my original pistons. The first ride was bad. The levers didn't move. The brake was engaged or disengaged on the first touch of the bar. The second ride was worse. The rear brake locked up and I had to cool the master cylinder to release the brake. I tried pumping them up but couldn't force the fluid out of the caliper. I think the seals are the wrong size and may swell. I changed the original seals and the front valve is fine, now it works perfectly. I tore one of the rear brake pads and tried to use the pad that came with it. The piston did not enter the cylinder. The seal seemed too big to fit inside. I will no longer waste time and money on poorly designed brakes. Ordered new brakes that are not from my SRAM.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • No Instructions
