Because this ozone generator is powered by a lithium-ion battery, it can be used in cold environments such as a refrigerator. A 20 minute cycle every 6 hours is a good maintenance period to blow some ozone in the freezer and hopefully kill any bad bacteria. I don't have any scientific proof of what ozone does in the fridge, but I can tell by the smell that it's there. It's a really cute little device packaged as a high-end electronic device. It is easy to charge and easy to use. You just push a button and everything works.
