Review on Cuisinart BDH 2 Blade Disc Holder by Wade Brooks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

OK, but not enough.

Cuisinart is known for making quality products for the home cook, which explains my dissatisfaction with this Cuisinart BDH-2 Blade and Disc Holder. On the plus side, it looks great on the countertop and does a great job of organizing the handle, blade and slices. A clear plastic sheet allows you to easily identify the ideal attachment for the job at hand. The lock on the door sounds like a good idea, but it's actually more of a deadbolt since any two-year-old or chimp can open it in ten seconds. Where this part really lags is in weight and stability. Of course, it stands exactly, but only rests on the edges of the plastic plates. There are no rubber or foam feet to prevent him from walking and no convenient place to add them yourself. It's also very light, even with accessories on board. As a result, every time you press or open it, it tends to slide across the counter, requiring you to move it to where you want it. This is something Cuisinart can easily replicate and given what they charge for this holder they certainly should.
