I had an SV300 receiver in another car and using the supplied antenna on my new car's dashboard just didn't work. Too many places where my new Kenwood car radio and *300 should have done well where it worked before didn't. This antenna was installed on the roof of my car next to the tailgate (new Subaru Impreza station wagon). I carefully threaded a cable from the rear roof into a slot at the top of the tailgate and ducked into a rubber boot (one on each side of the hatch with a small cutout so I could get inside the car). without running a cable over the seal around the sunroof. This keeps water leaking in. I sealed the hole in the trunk with liquid tape. I was able to stretch it out of sight on the right hand side floor of the car up to the head unit that houses the SV300 . All unforeseen disappearances are gone all the time. And the antenna is so "flat" that you don't really notice it on the roof. A good buy for me.
