Designed for thin stock, not starboard.

Support ring only fits 1/8" thick doors. Being die cast aluminum it cannot be cut down to fit thicker doors. I had to buy longer screws to make up the difference. Other than that it's good enough .

Pros

Commonly used by all major boat and yacht builders, this latch is also great for new applications.
