My lift bracket failed quite suddenly on my 2004 Audi A4 Avant to the point where it would not hold my hood at all. Being on a budget, I was pleased to see this inexpensive $13.99 replacement. Cheap and Audi are usually incompatible. Every older Audi owner knows that! When support arrived the quality was OEM level. After a quick/easy installation, my hood is now holding up well. YUP! So why only 4 stars? This post doesn't rise as slowly/consistently/controllably as my OEM before it failed. When the assist reaches its full extent, I hear a pretty loud pop that wasn't there on the OEM. It also hangs a bit in the middle when you open it. Nothing bad, but it is clear that there is a difference. Maybe that will change over time? Not sure yet. It doesn't matter to most, but I think some OEM-obsessed people might want to hear my findings.
