It's a good concept but it doesn't live up to its potential. The tape keeps the adapter perfectly on the phone except where it's really needed. Pulling straight up on a phone mounted in a quarter turn mount is nice and firm and undoubtedly strong enough to keep the phone from detaching from the adapter and mount. Now it fails miserably when rotating the phone to remove it from the holder. Double-sided tape cannot withstand twisting force. The phone carefully detaches from the adapter and the adapter remains in the holder with a quarter turn. However, all is not lost. I removed the tape from the adapter and used epoxy to glue the adapter to the phone case.
