I once had a Silverstone Strider (we're talking ten years) in my original PC build (patched a few times now). During this decade, the old facility has undergone three major renovations and many, many modernizations, large and small. He kicked the donkey and wrote down names, eventually showing signs of possible instability. I can only give credit to failsafe devices that shut themselves down when something went wrong rather than frying my box or any components and I'm honored that the old PSU was retired after such amazing service. Give (many) following version -gen, same performance, FTW modular cable as always! Build quality was noticeably different than it was ten years younger, but I guess for you it's cheaper parts and whatnot. It wasn't *bad*, but I was impressed by how different it was from the old device. It felt cheaper, was a little less durable, but looked good and comes with a nifty little fan grill filter. Unfortunately if you have an inverted/bottom mount this may not work for you, but a simple magnetic mount will do. I thought it was a universal power supply for all of our power supplies because it wasn't exactly the right size, but it worked. less than excellent fit and finish; it is a fan. The fan is on or off. And when it's on, holy cow. You're calling from the '90s and you want your jet engine back. When it first turned on I thought I broke it? It is so loud. Like, blast yourself loud. Full power, both on and off, and that's the DC-10 in your office/living room/mankeve when it's on. AX1200i 1200W (1200W) fully modular digital power supply with 80+ Platinum certification, which is slightly more expensive. I know Corsair is a good brand but I had such a great decade with my old Silverstone that I just expected more from the same, maybe better. Corsair is RELIABLE. It's packaged with love (and not without mischief, you'll know what I mean when you open the box with one of those red-lined silk pouches, trust me) and it's clearly made to last. It was worth it. My old Silverstone is still on the shelf, a monument to a) laziness and b) almost ten years of perfect work, but this new one is back in its box and being shipped to UPS for a refund. .
