A word of caution for those who may not know, these are somewhat unusual dimensions for handlebars, particularly the grip diameter of 22.2mm (7/8 Customs service). . . This is the standard grip diameter for mountain and BMX bars and has historically been a fairly common size for steel bars, but they are made from aluminum alloy. Most aluminum handlebars have a grip diameter of 23.8 mm (15/16 inches). . In addition, the inner diameter is smaller (the wall thickness is the same as other aluminum alloy poles), so the number of accessories such as mirrors and end caps may be limited. I couldn't install the Third Eye mirror but the Mountain Mirrycle works. The only bar plugs I had were some from Planet Bike and they had to be pushed in pretty hard. The 25.4mm (1 inch) clamp diameter is more commonly used on mountain bike stems and a little less often on road bike stems, which are more commonly 26.0mm or the newer 31.8mm, but can be fitted with shims to accommodate them If all of this indicates that they were a perfect fit for my 1992 Trek 820 drop handle mountain bike rebuild, I already had a couple of steel drop shackle brake levers in my trash can and I used them the standard snack. I am thrilled to have affordable aluminum folding sticks that are perfect for my application!
