Review on LG 27GN950B UltraGear 4K 144Hz HDR Gaming Monitor with G-SYNC Compatibility and Pivot Adjustment - 27GN950-B by Scott Williamson

So nice in my review.

So you already know this is a 4K display at 144Hz (160Hz after a firmware update!). I can confirm that mine looks beautiful and I can see the amazing refresh rate in action. The physical design of the display is also great. I like that the bezel is thin and unbranded (wish there was a 1440p display with the same build to use as a second display). The legs are the only noticeable "gamer" part of the display, but they look great on my $30 hand. I've used a 5K iMac and a Macbook Pro at work for years. I'm a bit spoiled by the pixel density of Apple displays. So when I go to 1080p or even 1440p the resolution feels noticeably low, which has kept me from building PCs for years - I didn't want to settle for a lower resolution. res to get a high refresh rate, but didn't want to give up the resolution for use at work (2D/3D design) either. This display was my gateway to a home PC that could be a beast for gaming and work. I'm using a Ryzen 5900x and a GTX 3090 Aorus Master for this display and haven't found anything that can't handle 4K 144Hz yet. It is great. I'm using Revain's "Maxonar" Displayport 1.4 cable, which is longer than stock and supports up to 8K 60fps, so it handles this display with ease. If you're in the same situation as me and can afford to pay a small premium for a 4K 144-160Hz display, great. You definitely need to consider whether you can take full advantage of 4K 144Hz. From what I've heard even a 3080 or 3090 can have resolution/refresh rate issues in some games on higher settings. I bought it knowing that 90% of the reason I chose the display is my work. But if you're buying this to try and get 4k resolution and 160 fps in AAA games, you should probably expect not to be using max graphics settings.
