Good: The ring grips the rim of a standard (5/6/7 gallon) paint can adequately. The Bad: The lid uses a single helical thread, making entry difficult and prone to crossovers. Threading and requires a lot of twisting after proper engagement. Ugliness: This doesn't work with Home Depot's cheap orange buckets, which have non-standard rims, making this a complete HD bug. The problem can be solved by changing the design of the product to use multiple (2/3/4) concentric steps. For four turns, the cap only needs to be turned an average of 3/8 turn (135°): 1/8 turn back to engage the threads and 1/4 turn forward to tighten the cap.
