I bought mainly for my high speed steel lathe tools, I will buy a second one to add to my tool box because it is so useful. works quickly and gives the cut edges a mirror finish. The overpriced liquid is a must and helps a little, it only takes a drop or two at a time, the small container which I suspect lasts a lot longer than I expected. some of my blades and for deburring my turning tools and also makes a handy chainsaw sharpener. Buying the set proved to be (very) slightly cheaper than buying the individual pieces and comes with an eraser-like block for cleaning the stone. when it gets dirty. I use my grinder to improve the shape of my nicks and hers to sharpen/sharpen them, greatly extends the life of my tools. Being able to sharpen small carbon steel inserts for my other lathe tools will be worth the investment.
