I purchased this for my 4 year old son who loves dinosaurs, however, upon receiving the package, the vermiculite or "soil” was opened and had spilled into everything else, creating a horrible mess. Also, the jar was melted one side and hard to seal due to the jar being misshaped. We made it work because my son didn't want to wait for me to send it back for a replacement. The plants took longer to develop than other terrariums I've purchased in the past, but they still grew nonetheless. Not sure if I will trust this company in the future, but I will mention that I like the light feature inside of the lid that actually changes colors and doesn't require batteries.
