Review on Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tire Performance by James Jenkins

I bought these tires because they were recommended to me for my terrible problem with a flat tire. I used Schwalbe One folding tires on my road bike. They were great tyres, just not for my driving style and environment. They were fast but didn't last long. I had speed but on literally every ride I experienced dips due to goat goads, sharp rocks, glass, etc. I installed these Marathon Plus SmartGuard clinchers about eight (8) months ago and have never had a single tire problem since 2000 miles. Granted, these weren't the easiest tires to install, but they were NOT frustratingly difficult to install, and no special tools were required. I did it entirely by hand and it took me 15-20 minutes per tire to get them on the rims. While not as fast as the Schwalbe One, they don't kill my speed. I have an average speed difference of about 1km/h over the same distance, but I also don't waste 20-30 minutes on every flat tire. I am actually improving the overall time spent. Definitely 5 stars for commuting and durability. I give 5 stars for durability because the tires haven't given me any problems and there hasn't been any unusual wear after 2000+ miles. Good business!
