Light. Compact. Excellent image quality (from an 'enthusiast', not a 'professional' photographer). OSS allows you to use a slower shutter speed - good for quasi-static indoor shots in low light. Keep in mind that taking a head-to-toe picture of a person with that 50mm focal length will likely require you to step back 30 feet. So if you're used to the lens that comes standard with your camera or phone camera, this focal length is quite different.
