Good build quality with excellent low light performance and low price

Low price, high quality bokeh, excellent low light lighting, optical stabilization, quick delivery and good build quality. The fast autofocus works well with my Sony A5100 and A6500 cameras. Get used to the fact that you have to move a bit further than the Sony 35mm f1.8, but otherwise great portrait shots with great background blur. Shipped easily and quickly. Happy with this lens.

50mm is a great focal length - keep that in mind.

Light. Compact. Excellent image quality (from an 'enthusiast', not a 'professional' photographer). OSS allows you to use a slower shutter speed - good for quasi-static indoor shots in low light. Keep in mind that taking a head-to-toe picture of a person with that 50mm focal length will likely require you to step back 30 feet. So if you're used to the lens that comes standard with your camera or phone camera, this focal length is quite different.

Absolutely AMAZING lenses

This is a must-have lens for anyone who owns a Sony a6000. I'd say I'm an amateur photographer, but this lens can do it all professionally. The aperture is great, great in low light and generally great for portraits and focusing on your favorite subjects up close. Photographer. Fair warning to all buyers, this lens doesn't zoom in or out and it's fairly close, requiring you to move away from subjects to get a full frame. But it's not so bad when the photos come out so perfect.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time

Unbelievable. favorite lens!

For some reason I don't like taking long distance shots so I only use two lenses on my 6400, this lens and a Sigma 16mm. 16 is wide so I don't use 50mm when not in use so I can get out and shoot in most conditions. There are many other reviews so I won't bother with them. Yes, the lens captures every nuance of the moment perfectly, as everyone says. However, there is one thing I would like to emphasize for the next person who might consider this lens. The built-in stabilization in this lens…

Great for portraits and close-ups, good prime lens for beginners

Disclaimer: I'm an amateur photographer and bought a Sony a6000 with a 16-55mm kit lens a few months ago. However, I quickly gave up the kit lens and really wanted to explore the possibilities of my new camera. After debating between Sony's best 35mm and 50mm lenses, I settled on this bad boy first. I can't say that this is my favorite lens that I leave on 90% of the time, but it definitely fills a certain niche depending on the situation. this is great for portraits. Even at f/2.5 to f/2.8 you
