Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Oregon Scientific AW129 Wireless BBQ Thermometer: Probe & Remote Temperature Monitoring by Pleaze Evans

Good customer service Bad components

So I bought it in December, used it 3 times and it worked great. Then, on the fourth use, the temperature turned out to be about 40 degrees Fahrenheit higher than it actually was. I contacted the seller and they told me that my one month return policy with them had expired, but the manufacturer, Oregon Scientific, would process the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and give me their contact information. I contacted them on the phone, spoke to them and then they emailed me the reset process to try first. So I did that and it didn't solve the problem. After I emailed them again and told them the reset failed, they emailed me with instructions to either fax them the receipt or take a picture of the device and email them the picture. to send mail. I chose the image/email option. After that, they replaced the block very quickly. However, at the time I needed a digital thermometer, so I bought a Weber model from Lowes. I have to say that it's about twice the price, but the performance is much better. If I had to do it all over again I would just buy the Weber block first. If Oregon Scientific offered custom temperature/alarm settings like Weber does, it would be a much more useful product. In their place, I would have better checked the quality control and maybe moved the production to another country.
