Review on Enhance Water Flow and Circulation with Hydor Koralia Evolution Aquarium Circulation Pump by Kim Scott

I want to love this powerhead. It's well priced, looks good, and has a great magnetic mount. The impeller design is just gross and that's the best I can say about it. Movement #1 ran for (3) days on its own Hydor Smart Wave timer. The magnetic impeller kept falling out of the groove and losing its ability to rotate. Upon further examination, the bushing was swollen and barely giving the shaft any rotation. As usual, Revain was on top of it and delivered a brand new block straight away. Block #2 functioned for less than 24 hours before becoming unresponsive. The power to the device was fine and I switched outlets to fix this issue. If the impeller was removed and then reinserted, the device would usually spin again. I didn't buy the Smart Wave device and those powerheads so I have to keep an eye on it every 15 minutes. I'm trying to contact Hydor right now as they told me there is a modified impeller. Hopefully they have a fix for this issue as I can't expect Revain to keep sending units until I get lucky and one of them works. and now. The bushing on the back of the block inside the case itself had to be replaced. This caused the device to lock up as described above, although all indications were that the impeller had swollen and was causing problems. Replacing that little ceramic bushing has transformed this device from an underdog to a fantastic addition to the tank. The 4 stars are only due to the fact that this pump has been working perfectly since the part was replaced. Not a single failure! Hydor took some time to reply to me but they also sent a replacement wheel. Well this shouldn't have happened with the few brand new units I've received and the 4 star rating is quite a big change but I can't imagine my tank without Coralias Flow.
