Review on Diamond Wireless Extender Transmitter Receiver by Robby Fingaw

Great picture, incredibly easy setup NOT FOR PLAY

I've been a fan of wireless HDMI for a number of years. I originally bought the kit from Nyrius. While it worked up close to stream content from my PC to my projector, it wasn't reliable enough to stream content beyond 15 feet. Of course, that was a few years ago and the technology was fairly new. My next step was to purchase a Peerless kit called the HD Flow. Although this kit costs several hundred dollars more than cheaper kits like Nyrius, it allowed streaming over much longer distances and to multiple locations at once (I ran my cable from the living room to the garage and to the projector). After that I bought another set of Nirious. This kit worked the same as the first Nyrius kit I had, only at a much longer distance. None of these kits had what I am currently looking for on the market, low latency sufficient for gaming. I wanted to connect my PS4 Pro upstairs and then stream PS4 content from PS4 to my laptop. I did it without any problems, with very little signal lag. All the games I tried played at 1080p with no problems. I then wanted to be able to use the laptop's dedicated HDMI port to stream PS4 content from the laptop to the TV. This meant that the form factor should be small and the latency (if any) should be very low. While this ruled out many long range or 4k kits, there seemed to be a few 1080p options (that's all I needed). Enter the Diamond Multimedia VS50 kit. The first thing that attracted me to the kit was its compact form factor. While you might see some kits with a small transmitter, you don't often see them with a small receiver or vice versa. Since the transmitter is powered from the laptop's HDMI port and the receiver is powered from the USB port (which most TVs have these days), it was perfect. They're small and ultra-portable, which again you won't find in many similar kits. However, what sealed the deal for me was the statement that the kit was "a high-performance, zero-latency wireless HDMI system" and "transmits video and audio in real-time." Unfortunately I didn't have that. I set everything up. PS4 Pro for laptop - good, very low latency (if any). Now for connecting the laptop to the TV (with the VS50) the video quality looked great throughout the room. However, when I tried to move the chopsticks, the TV signal was 1/2 second behind what was showing on the laptop. Tried to bring the laptop to the TV, nothing changed. I tried switching content thinking that the signal from the PS4 to the laptop might be interfering with the signal from the VS50 to the TV. Launched YouTube on a laptop, still very noticeable lags. Aside from the lag, the set seemed to have pretty good range and their claim of easy tuning couldn't be truer. I turned them on and they caught fire very quickly on their own. I'll keep them because I'll probably use them for something at some point in the future, but unfortunately they don't quite suit my needs. However, if you need something small, it's easy to set up. , supports 1080p and you don't mind a little lag, it's a really good kit for the price. I will probably use this to stream video content to a projector. What you have done with this set is really great. It's fantastic to have such a small and easy to set up wireless HDMI kit. Though maybe it wasn't quite Nonetheless, what I was looking for is a solid package you've put together that should meet most people's needs. Have you considered adding the ability to add more receivers to this kit? TL; DRPros - Small form factor, zero setup (plug and play), 1080p image, good distance.
