The camera has an HD main stream and an additional sub stream. You can enable and disable this in the web interface. The additional stream offers decent video quality if you want to take a quick look. The quality of video and camera images is excellent, even in night mode it is very detailed. Everything is still visible and clear day and night. The 103° viewing angle is very convenient, you can see more with just one camera. Software (4/5) The web interface of the camera is quite simple and most brands use the same interface. You can adjust Quality, Saturation, Sharpness, Brightness, Gamma and Contrast. There are options for live view, playback, and cloud storage. If you want to use the playback option in the web interface, you need to install an SD card. If necessary, you can flip and rotate the image/video. You can set day/night/common profiles for the camera and day/night time. I would like to be able to enter the time manually instead of dragging the slider. Overall (4.5/5) the Amcrest POE IP camera is a great budget camera that packs a lot into a small device. Installation was easy with the included installation sticker: just stick the sticker on the surface you want to mount the camera on, drill a few holes, peel off the sticker and then mount the camera. The rest was easy once you know what you are doing. I would recommend this camera to colleagues, friends and people who want to protect their home/work with security cameras.
