Review on πŸ”‘ Honda Key Fob Shell Case Replacement: Accord, Civic Ex, Pilot - with Screwdriver by William Lin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap, fragile junk.

The shell does not close completely. After some fiddling, turning the key and trying other settings, the case still doesn't close tightly. You can't rely on a small screw to pull the two halves together for fear of damaging the screw hole. The halves of the case sway noticeably, and it seems that the case could break at any moment. I can attach the two halves tightly together, but they won't stay on their own (see picture). The case comes with no instructions and the pictures and instructions on the product page are terrible. The images are too small and too dark, and the written instructions seem to have some translation issues. I had to downgrade even more. Overnight the crack in the shell widened, so I'm sure the screw broke. When connecting the halves, the cheap case split (see photo). Ironically, a crack in the case allows the two halves to finally fit together properly and close the case. The key itself came from a 2012 Honda Pilot.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Functionality
