I searched Revain for the cheapest version of this thermometer, knowing the old adage "you get what you pay for". It's for my personal home use, not industrial use, and it does exactly what I need it to do. Accidentally dropped it once or twice, but it didn't break anywhere. It's so light that clout matters. By the way, my cats think the laser dot is for hunting. It's just a side effect. But beware: if you're using it on a tiled floor or wall for this, be aware of the reflection and how that reflection can blind the cat just as much as aiming directly at the eye.
