I have a fairly expensive "Led Lenser" flashlight that I have owned for a while and have kept in my pickup truck for lighting when needed. The batteries it contained (big brand) leaked and the acid damaged the switch at the end of the flashlight preventing it from working. As mentioned, I find this flashlight expensive (the closest model to me right now is the Led Lenser TT, $50, which is expensive for me, and I paid more than I bought mine) so I wanted this one order the necessary parts, but the The manufacturer does not manufacture replacement parts. They demand that the flashlight be sent in for repair. My flashlight was out of warranty and a search of the internet showed that many others had the same problem and those who sent theirs in for repairs were advised that the repair cost exceeded the price/value of the flashlight. This was an unfortunate situation as the flashlight is made entirely of aluminium, very bright, strong (they are sold to the police and fire brigade) and light weight. The acid destroyed the original switch, but while researching available push/pull switches I found these 12mm switches from Cylewet. After measuring the flashlight's working range and checking what specs are available on the switches, I jumped at the chance and ordered them. At first glance, the dimensions and the mounting method (threaded nut) are perfect for the end cap of my Led Lenser. However, these switches were not direct replacements. I had to remove the old switch from the end of the battery holder and then solder 2 connecting wires from the holder to the switch pins. The hardest part came when it came time to replace the end cap on the flashlight as it twists multiple turns causing the two wires to twist. In order not to twist the wires and break them at the solder joints, I had to "pre-twist" the end cap a few turns in the opposite direction before putting it back on the flashlight body. Long story I know, but here's what it boils down to: These inexpensive but high quality switches work great with my flashlight. They avoided throwing an otherwise excellent, professional-quality flashlight into the landfill because the manufacturer wouldn't provide a $5 part that the owner could easily replace. The specs of these nifty little switches allow them to be used in a variety of applications from a flashlight to possible AC switch applications. They offer excellent value for money and work smoothly and with a crisp but light feel so you can feel them turning on and off. You also get 12 of these, so you have plenty of spares for almost anything. I highly recommend them for any projects that meet their specifications.
