Review on ๐Ÿš— Dorman 521-108 Suspension Control Arm & Ball Joint Assembly for Dodge/Jeep - Front Passenger Side by Nick Walsh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not ideal for Dodge Caliber R/T 2007

This part is made in Taiwan but appears to be well made. After installing this (and another one on the driver's side) the car was overfilled again and the rattle from a worn ball joint was gone. I was offered CAD$820 for parts and labor to swap out the wishbones on both sides, so I decided to buy the parts here and swap them out myself. The only real problem I had was that the barrel was too long and protruding in the case. about 1/8 inch, making it impossible to install it that way (the original part wasn't that way). I had to grind down that extra length to install it (same for the driver's side side arm). Since others say it fits with no problem, I think Dorman parts should be made in different factories with different quality controls. Update: ball joint failed after 3.5 years / 35,000 km.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Replaceable
