I bought this lock to use on my bike for commuting and I use it when I have to commute downtown for small tasks, usually up to an hour. Safety-wise so far so good. However, if I had to leave the bike outside for a long period of time (i.e. a normal work shift), I would probably choose a more durable model. The main disadvantage of this lock is that it is inconvenient to carry. An attachment to the rear triangle, for example, is not possible. To put it on the bike frame I had to take out one of the bottle cages or it wouldn't fit. Then, when driving over rough terrain, it makes a curvy annoying noise. Finally, you cannot cleanly attach the Cobra cable to the lock without damaging it. It gets dirty and hits the legs when driving. The picture of the lock shows a Velcro strap that helps hold the Cobra cable in place. Mine wasn't there. When I want to use the cable, I carry it on my backpack.
