Review on SlipDoctors Fiberglass Bathtubs Barefoot Friendly by Christopher Shah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall, I like the product as an alternative to sticky tape.

Overall I like this product as an alternative to the previously used adhesive strips. In my case, however, the durability claims turned out to be quite optimistic. I applied Tub Grip on December 8th after thoroughly cleaning and drying the acrylic tub. After 24 hours of drying (more than indicated in the instructions) to be sure: I was very satisfied with the condition of the surface. It was finely textured and my foot didn't slip even with just a little leaning on it, even when the tub floor was soapy in the middle of the shower. This continued for many weeks, but over time the surface became less and less rough until slipping became a real hazard. This surface degradation lasted almost 2 months and only occurred in the center of the tub where people liked to stand and the edges remained non-slip. To be clear, the product didn't flake at all - it's still there and seamless around the edges of the tub (where the texture is still rough), it just smoothed out. However, the price is moderate, and repeating it every few months is not difficult. So I still think it's a viable (only slightly more expensive) alternative to sticky tape or anti-slip mats. You just need to check the surface periodically and reapply before it becomes unsafe.

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • I have no major complaints about it, everything is fine
