I check the DVD drive every 2-3 years so in the last 17 years I have at least 7 or 8 installed. This drive was not recognized by my computer after installation. I restarted twice and after the second start it worked. I got read errors every 3 or 4 CDs I put in and in most cases I had to load the disc 3-5 times before the drive recognized it. Recording from D/L DVD was not possible. I tried to burn a DVD 4 times and ended up with 5 racks. As far as I know, this record is a piece of junk. Pay attention to the bad reviews on this as they accurately describe the product.
