Solid product on cradles

This came in a tattered box and looked like a previously returned refurbished item. The base said "remove plastic wrap" where there was no plastic wrap. There are no instructions either, other than some illegible gibberish printed on the side of the box. With four individual parts in small plastic bags, this was no easy task. Given all of this I wasn't a optimist and wanted to send it back but I decided to give it a try first. It wasn't very difficult, I assembled it in 10 minutes by trial and error and attached it to my rearview mirror. The spring-loaded mirror and phone grips feel really solid, so I don't expect any of the failures over time that inevitably come with these sucking or sticky phone holders. The drop down effect that isolates the phone looks really cool and the multi-directional swivel base is a nice feature that locks securely into place with a twist of the lightweight grip nut on the back. A limitation. First you need to make sure you have enough room behind the mirror for the somewhat bulky mounting arms that grip it. With my Lexus 350 it was a struggle. I was about to give up, but somehow managed to block it on my last try. For some reason Lexus attached a black plastic box to the windshield just behind the mirror. If your vehicle doesn't have such an obstacle, the normal ground clearance should be fine. To sum it up, surprisingly solid for a typically cheap, flimsy Chinese product. Very satisfied. Bye.
