I do like them. There is elastic around the waist. They are big on me and roomy. And the pockets are deep enough for a iphone 11 (barely) or newer iphone SE. The back pockets are less deep. Mine came with a belt. I'm not sure if someone else tried them on first because the zipper was down and maybe someone did, so I washed them right away. They fit, but from the side the fabric looks like I have a tummy that I don't have -- it's a pooch in the fabric. The belt helps some to keep it from folding down like that. Someone else's photo shows this. It's not her stomach, it's the shorts pushing out like that. So be aware. But they are comfortable enough for me to keep them. A belt does help the pooch issue by at least half. They might shrink in the dryer too I hope in the future.
