Smashed refills at the car wash, ordered these, works great! Make sure after removing the antenna cover with needle nose pliers, etc. Ask someone to help you turn on the radio, it should pop out your old one, it might end up getting stuck. Examine or photograph the tines of the mast carefully to see what position they are in. Have them press the antenna button on the LX dashboard in the up position until the entire antenna pops out of the antenna mast and some of the teeth should pop out. Before inserting a new mast, make sure you have inserted and tightened the antenna top cap. Then keep an eye on the position of the teeth, they are facing forward or backward, so you can put a new one in. Have that person turn off the radio while you insert the new pole with the teeth facing the same direction as the old one. Be sure to point until the antenna is fully inserted. The instructions are great, but the best way to learn is through experience. It may take several tries, but you'll get a new one in no time. Not sure if it needs lubricating but the refills are fine so far.
