More aggressive than expected

Great product but it took less than 5 minutes to install as advertised. In my Land Cruiser 07 I had to remove all motor cables for the motorized mast which I replaced with a fixed antenna. I've tried just cutting the cable along with the bent mast and screwing in a new antenna, but that left a horrible screeching/humming sound from the motor trying to pull the cable in every time I parked the car. The easiest way to get rid of it is to take out the antenna motor and disassemble the entire…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing here

Works great as a factory replacement for 03 LC

It took about 5 minutes to remove the old antenna. I used a Lisle 29650 Antenna Nut Socket to remove the antenna nut. I see people here using flat head screwdrivers and pliers to remove it, please don't do that you will scratch it. If you care about your car, spend your money and buy the right tools. I also used this set of nuts on my 2004 Grand Cherokee and am sure I will use them many more times. The new antenna is not lubricated, so I lubricated the teeth with Lucas Xtra Heavy Duty, lowered.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Direct replacement for 1999 Land Cruiser, 1 minute install time.

I had a busted ant and didn't want a motorized one, I've actually made a taco whip mod on many of my other trucks and I regret ever wasting time or money on any of them. It's 10 times lighter, about half the price, and the only "downside" is that the stock ant motor runs when you start or turn off the truck for about 3-4 seconds. doesn't really matter and can probably be fixed quickly with a piece of wire and tape if it really bothers you that much. I literally installed mine in a car wash. I…

Works great on 2003+ LX470

Smashed refills at the car wash, ordered these, works great! Make sure after removing the antenna cover with needle nose pliers, etc. Ask someone to help you turn on the radio, it should pop out your old one, it might end up getting stuck. Examine or photograph the tines of the mast carefully to see what position they are in. Have them press the antenna button on the LX dashboard in the up position until the entire antenna pops out of the antenna mast and some of the teeth should pop out…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Negative gift

Very impressive spare part

This is a genuine spare part. The linear gear (the piece of plastic with the teeth) appears to be about 2 inches shorter than the stock on my 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser, but the antenna works fine. The teeth must face forward when inserting the antenna for the mechanism to engage and pull it back. First compare the old part to the new to make sure there is no part left in the motor assembly. If so, be prepared to spend an hour or two removing the antenna motor assembly and pulling out the old…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No work
