Good and quality product, but there are flaws.
Sounds and heating are a little questionable. But the record has been made. There are about 11 external hard drives in the room. And SEGETAS moldings of past years and TRANSEDA of past years both on 500gb and on 1Tb. All work. So there is something to compare. And I've been using the Seagate Expansion Portable Drive series for a long time, since 2022 if I'm not mistaken. This is the third variety. I have been using Seagate appliances since 2022.
- Ordinary small portable External Hard Drive purchased on 21 10 2022 for 3490r. Seagate STEA1000400 is the Seagate Expansion Portable Drive (as it is written on the packaging box). Will fit in the pocket of a classic business shirt if anything. Width 7cm 9mm long 11cm 6mm height or thick to anyone as best perceived by about 1cm 4mm. Includes hard thick USB 3.0 cable. The drive itself is lighter compared to the Seagate Expansion Portable Drive sculpts of yesteryear(2022 2022 2022). Probably a plus can also be attributed to the fact that by removing this disk from a plastic box and from under the foil with which the disk is wrapped, removing the adapter with a soldered USB connector, you can insert the disk into a laptop, for example, and this is good. Some manufacturers do not mount the SATA connector but solder the USB connector to the drive. Such discs cannot be inserted into a computer.
- Too obvious loud sounds at the time of the copy request, at the start of copying, during the shutdown of activity. I hope that this does not lead to a service. On other VZhDs that are now available, such loud sounds are not heard. An array of information for 350 gigabytes was transferred from a laptop to the VZD in 1 hour and 35 minutes. The laptop was set to MAX performance. No parallel actions with copying were performed. Seagate STEA1000400 warmed up dashingly in the area of the USB connector and nearby. While copying, I hoped that it would not overheat. Everything is recorded. Cooled down quickly. The recording itself flowed without third-party sounds.
