First, the plastic base doesn't stay in place. So when using this grinder, use it on a hard plastic board. Second, it can get noisy when in use. So if noise is an issue for you, don't buy it. Third, the container attached to the base does not hold a large portion or portion of food. So if you're buying to prepare meals for multiple people, you might want to reconsider buying another chopper that's larger. I'm guessing it holds less than a standard 6 ounce mug/tumbler. The fourth and final problem will literally give your skin goosebumps and is the end result of not being able to properly cleanse after each use. You can't clean behind the blade, and when you're working with any type of food, be it nuts or herbs, cleaning is important because you don't want to eat food or spices that you ate a month or more ago. You literally have to boil this grinder to effectively kill any bacteria or others (larvae) that have formed from your last use. It is poorly designed for cleaning and this makes this grinder a food hazard and for this reason DO NOT BUY IT. If you didn't understand what was said before, read this. That's my experience with this grinder. It's difficult to clean, especially where the blade is, and for that reason I rate this shredder low. With any kitchen appliance, I've learned the hard way that cleaning is important. After the first use, food particles get stuck between the blade and spring and decompose over time. Now, as the food breaks down, they form larvae and bacteria that can end up in your next meal. Even after washing and sterilizing this grinder, food particles still remain, and you guessed it, they form larvae. The good thing is that everything that moves stays inside, so nothing can escape. So if you like snacking and collecting maggots, then this dish is for you and your family. Have fun ☺️
