A few months ago I bought a non-contact voltage tester from Tacklife and have found it indispensable when replacing the switches in my house with smart switches. A must have safety tool to make sure you don't have live wires when working with wires and also good for diagnostics to find a hot wire in a box. I bought another one to keep nearby or to give to my dad but also wanted a socket tester. When I saw this combo offer I returned the 2nd unused Tacklife tester and bought it instead. I used a socket tester to test a few sockets in my house this past weekend; In fact, he found an ungrounded outlet that I was able to fix and subsequently confirm as good. I also replaced a few loose sockets and used it to test my work.
