I wish I had bought it sooner. For several months we have been struggling with our HL-5450DN being "muted" at the start of about half of our missions. Usually the first task got stuck after a break, and after cleaning it worked until the next break. The printer UI reports a photoconductor error even though the printer reports that the drum has approximately 30% of its life remaining. We were about to ditch the printer and replace it when I decided to just try this inexpensive photoconductor and see if it solved the problem. SO FAR, SO GOOD! Immediately, the printer returned to normal printing with no jams and became quieter. Comparing the old drum block to this one showed a big difference in the mechanical effort required to turn the drum - the old block became very stiff for some reason, so I think the motors were being stressed too much to make it run bring to. first it goes, and then it will be passable for some time until it stops again. In any case, this replacement photoconductor solved our problem and the print quality was excellent. No problem installing it. They say you get what you pay for so time will tell if it lasts, but if it only lasts half its nominal 30,000 pages it's a steal, especially compared to the cost of an official Brother/OEM part (you can buy it). a new printer for what Brother wants for its drum).
