Review on πŸ“Ί Revolutionize Your Home Entertainment with XM Xpress Universal Remote by Jeremy Reddick

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works with Onyx Plus on the transport dock. instructions here. Multiple removed versions cause confusion.

EDIT: Stopped working again the next day. I had to take the battery out of the remote and put it back in to get it working again. I assume this will be a recurring problem. I downgraded my rating to 3 stars, this is definitely not a viable "universal remote" solution. Keyboard shortcuts do not affect my radio in any way. I read another review here that suggested pressing the a/b button on the radio first and entering a channel with the remote, which didn't work for me. However, I was able to get it working when I came back to try again. The bottom right button on my remote says r/b (top right is just the XM logo and nothing else) if that helps figure out what version you have. I've docked the removed one star for this clumsy programming issue and obfuscated versions with no real supporting documentation. The instruction manual for my car dock doesn't even mention a remote accessory and the home kit that includes the remote just says there is a remote and nothing about "if your remote doesn't work". MAKE IT WORK: With the radio on I pressed the r/b button on the remote (bottom right button) which did a manual channel selection, so I punched in a 3 digit channel, the radio tuned into it and suddenly All Remote functions work. Direct setup, directional buttons, select button, menu button, previous, forward, play/pause, mute, and power (both off and on) now work with the remote control. Perhaps it's worth noting that I took the battery out and put it back in. After testing to make sure it didn't crash, maybe it had a bad connection when I first tried it, or the remote itself had to be restarted? Worth a try if you have trouble. There seem to be several versions of this remote, the easiest to identify is the logo in the top right corner. I have seen XM, XM XMP3, SiriusXM and SiriusXM v2.0. I've also seen the bottom right knob labeled Bank Select or R/B. I'm not sure if those different remotes could be causing some of the issues, but it looks like I finally got mine working after a lot of fiddling.
