Problems with metal splinters when pouring

When I first removed the lubricator tube from the lubricator head I felt there was a problem with the threads. Of course, the internal thread on the head broke in several places. The metal shavings from the faulty threads naturally contaminated the o-rings and the interior of the genie as a whole. To be clear, this is not user error, but a manufacturing defect, possibly due to a bubble or other contamination in the casting. The damaged areas on the threads are only a few mm by a few mm in size. The barrel can still be screwed upside down. The problem is that the grease gun is contaminated with metal flakes, which requires careful and thorough cleaning. Lubricant is injected into the working parts to reduce metal-to-metal contact and increase machine life. However, if metal chips such. B. chips from a faulty thread, get into the machine together with the lubricant, this can lead to an adverse effect on the machine. Replacing bearings and gears can be very expensive. This product is very cheap - 10 USD. It seems Plews can only deliver it at such a low price by skipping the quality control steps. This grease gun can become quite expensive if it damages a valuable machine component or causes a dangerous accident through accelerated machine failure. Metal shavings, in good light, carefully remove any metal shavings/shavings before using a grease gun and remember there may be metal shavings on the casting that have not yet come loose.
