The pad itself seems good, doesn't seem to get as hot as my other sticky mats, watt for watt. I love the idea of moving or reusing it, but even with HVAC foil tape over the panel, the panel sags in the middle and I think some heat is lost here. On a 20 gallon tank it was very difficult to apply tape since the gasket is almost the same size as the glass between the frame. So using tape on a plastic frame on 2 sides is not as safe as we would like, on the unframed sides the tape works fine. All in all, time will tell if it pays to be able to move it, it seems to be heating up fine with my thermostat now, but fitting it to a 20 gallon tank wasn't as easy or reliable as I'd like it to be would have wished. Self-adhesive pads are easier to install and seem to heat up a bit faster despite their lower power rating.
